Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQs)

Our FAQs section provides answers to common questions about our dental services, treatments, and patient care. From appointment scheduling and payment methods to oral health tips and treatment options, we’re here to ensure you have all the information you need for a comfortable and confident dental experience.

How often should I see a dentist?

It is recommended to see a dental professional for a routine examination every six months to rule out oral diseases.

How often should I be getting my dental hygiene performed?

For the general public and the average adult, periodontal tartar and plaque should be professionally removed every 6 months. Based on personal factors, some individuals may need to come more or less frequently, but it is usually assessed on a case by case basis.

What can I do to help take care of my teeth better at home?

Brushing at least twice a day with a fluoridated toothpaste using correct technique, and flossing at least once a day is sufficient to keep most dental diseases at bay.

Are dental X-rays safe and necessary?

Without the use of radiography, there is no certain way that a dentist can confidently diagnose the condition of your teeth. We follow the ALARA principle and keep the radiation dose as low as reasonably attainable, and our state-of-the-art digital sensors further reduce the radiation harm. Each of our usual check up X-rays is about equivalent to two bananas!

Are fluoride treatments safe?

Fluoride is the best proven active ingredient to help remineralize enamel and arrest the development of dental caries. In the amounts that we administer, it is perfectly safe and beneficial to oral health. However, if you have any concerns, talk to us! We can discuss alternatives that are fluoride free.

When do I start bringing my kids in for dental check-ups?

The Canadian Dental Association recommends as early as 6-12months old or when they have their first tooth.

How does payment work at the dental office?

We take all forms of cash and card payments (including VISA, Mastercard, AMEX) and we direct bill to all major insurances including CDCP.  As partners to your oral health, we believe in transparency and do not charge more than the BC provincial fee guide. Contact us today!
